Start your answer -

where, who with, how long for?

For example:

1- I went to countryside with my family for a couple of weeks.

2- I went to Thailand with a group of friends for ten days.

3- My girlfriend & I went to Shimla for a long weekend.

A long weekend = two to four days

HOW TO DESCRIBE WHAT YOU DID ON VACATION?

Ex:

1- I went to the countryside with my family for a couple of  weeks. Mostly, we went hiking in the hills and mountains nearby. we also just hung out in the village, playing cards and eating.

Hiking = Going for a longer walks, often in the hills or the mountains
Hang out  = walk without having any particular goal

Ex:2- I went to Thailand with a group of friends for ten days. We did some sightseeing in Bangkok, the Grand Palace, Wht Pho and so on, then we hit the beaches in Krbi for some sun, swimming and cocktails!

Sightseeing = Visiting some famous places in the city 
Hit the beaches = To go the beaches (hit the bars) ( hit the clubs) etc.

3- My girlfriend and i went to the Shimla for a long weekend. we went on a walking tour of the center. Mostly we went to restaurants and cafes & sampled as much of the local cuisine as we could fit in our stomach!

Walking tour = to go with a guide on tour.

Sampled = To try many different things.

Local cuisines = Many different dishes.

HOW TO DESCRIBE WHERE YOU WENT 

ON VACATION

EX-
1- I went to the countryside with my family for a couple of weeks. We stayed in a Very nice village surrounded  by nice mountain scenery.

Instead of using the highlighted words use this adjectives 

1- I went to the countryside with my family for a couple of weeks. We stayed in a picturesque, sleepy village surrounded  by some dramatic mountain scenery.

Dramatic = Impressive.
Picturesque = Another way of saying Beautiful.
Sleepy = Quite, peaceful.  

2- I went to Thailand with a group of friends for ten days. Bangkok is a very cosmopolitan place but it could be a little overwhelming because there was so mush going on! then we went to Karbi, which has some stunning beaches. 

Cosmopolitan = A place where many different people and cultures live together. 
Overwhelming = something is very intense.
Stunning = very beautiful.  

3- My girlfriend and I went to the Shimla for a long weekend. It's a fascinating place but it's quite touristy, too. The best thing was the food, which was out of this world. 

HOW TO DESCRIBE WHAT YOU LIKED

OR DISLIKED 

EX-
1- I went to the countryside with my family for a couple of weeks, It was relaxing but the end I was getting quite bored, because each day was pretty similar.

2- I went to Thailand with a group of friends for ten days. I loved Karbi because it was like nowhere I'd ever been before. I wasn't so keen on Bangkok. it's a cool place but it's a bit big and noisy for my tasters. it's a nice area, but it's too developed and touristy for my tasters.

3- My girlfriend and I went to Shimla for a long weekend. I think I liked the general atmosphere most of all. Walking around the little streets in the centers felt like being in an old film. I wish it had been less crowded, though. I wish we'd had more time to explore the city.

I went to Shravasti by myself for one day. I travelled around, did some hiking and camping, and explored the countryside. I was in the Sahet MAhet garden which is huge park and garden both. It is beautiful in a wild way, and the emptiness gave me a real feeling of isolation and solitude. I liked the people i met- everyone was so open and welcoming. on the other hand even though it was summer, the evening was little bit cold! I wish i'd taken at least one jacket with me.
